The coastline might be just a few moments away, but the real star of the show at Royal Park Albatros is the huge outdoor pool. It's a real centrepiece with a tumbling waterfall, tall palms, parasols and sunbeds aplenty - so there's always a shady spot to lay your towel. The gardens are quite spectacular too. Throw in a cute pedestrian footbridge, winding pathways, lush greenery and spiky tropical plants, and you've got a beautiful corner of paradise just waiting to be discovered.
There's also a giant chess set and a reading garden, two spacious Jacuzzis overlooking the swimming pool, a small children's playground and a kids' club.
Beyond the resort you'll find plenty of great things to see and do, all within easy reach. Golf is the obvious choice, and you'll certainly be spoilt by Tenerife's fantastic collection of greens. For a relaxing afternoon, head down to Golf del Sur's pretty marina, San Miguel, to watch glossy private yachts come and go. From here you can also join a submarine safari to explore the island's vibrant undersea life and pristine southern coastline.
The unmissable mountain range forms a magnificent backdrop to your Golf del Sur holiday, and it's well worth getting up close to savour a different side to Tenerife. Teide National Park can be reached in less than an hour by car from Royal Park Albatros, and it's a day trip you won't forget in a hurry. The snow-capped centrepiece, Mt Teide, is the tallest peak in Spain and offers stunning views from the summit. Whizz up by cable car or, if you're feeling adventurous, determined climbers can trek to the top on foot. It's a long challenging climb that's best reserved for experienced hikers.
And for the kids, Tenerife's Siam Park is an absolute must. One of the largest water parks in Europe, this vast theme park is full of wet 'n wild activities to suit guests of all ages, including big kids! If you're hiring a car, it's well worth heading to Tenerife's northern shores to experience a completely different pace of life. Soak up its dramatic rocky coastline, explore its traditional white-washed villages and pay a visit to Loro Parque, a sprawling wildlife sanctuary that's a huge hit for all ages.
